Crowfoot Range's 2026 Annual Meeting and Open House drew roughly 75 to 80 members, and the energy in the room matched the progress happening on the ground. After the meeting, a large group joined the Board for a tour of the range build site to see firsthand how far the project has come. Here's a look at the highlights, the work still ahead, and how members can help.
A Record-Setting Membership Drive
October's membership drive was a big success. The raffle brought in more than 65 new members and raised nearly $10,000 for the range. Congratulations to Jeff Fassio, the membership raffle winner and Crowfoot Range's newest Lifetime Member!
Board and Leadership Updates
Members re-elected the Board of Directors, with Robert "Rocky" DeForge officially elected as Board Secretary. Rocky reported on old business, including a board vacancy and the range's partnership with the City of Eagle, along with new business covering range construction, renewals, and volunteer development.
Treasurer Darren Howard presented the financial report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026. The range took in more than $14,000 in deposits, driven mostly by new memberships, renewals, and lifetime memberships, and finished the year with a higher balance than it started with.
Thanks to the People Making It Happen
Tom Hare was recognized for his tireless dedication to developing the range. Put simply, this project wouldn't exist without him.
Special thanks also go to Dan Richter and Brad Pfannmuller of Avimor. Avimor has donated the 41-acre parcel the range sits on, plus more than $1,000,000 in earth-moving work. The deed transfer is in process now, Crowfoot Range expects to officially own the property within the next few weeks.
The Board has also submitted NRA grant applications and is negotiating rental agreements with tactical training groups interested in using individual range bays. Both could become meaningful sources of support once the range opens.
What It Takes to Open the Range
To meet the requirements of its Conditional Use Permit (CUP), Crowfoot Range still needs to complete a few major projects:
Fencing (about $45,000): 2,800 feet of 3-wire livestock fencing, 1,000 feet of chain-link fencing with barbed wire, and a 20-foot entry gate.
Shooting sheds (about $30,000): The plan is to open Bays 1 and 3 first, followed by Bay 2 and then Bay 4. At least three shooting sheds are needed to open Bays 1 and 3.
Fire suppression (about $3,000 remaining): Two 3,000-gallon water tanks are already on site. A pump, fire hose, and plumbing hardware will complete the system.
Fire mitigation: The Eagle Fire District has volunteered to cut a multi-season fire break around the property perimeter as part of its dozer crew training.
Enter the Firearms Raffle
A new Firearms Raffle is open now through December 15, 2026, featuring firearms donated by two Crowfoot Range members. All proceeds go directly toward range development, so it's a great way to help close the gap on the projects above. See the prizes and get your tickets here, and please share it with anyone who might be interested.
Volunteers Wanted
Moving the range forward takes more than funding. It takes people, too. Volunteer sign-ups are open for the following committees:
Steering Committee
Membership & Fundraising Committee
Infrastructure Construction Committee
Range Safety, Security & Operations Committee
Site Security Sub-Committee
"Working Hands" Committee

Help Spread the Word
One of the best ways to support Crowfoot Range is simply talking about it. Tell friends, colleagues, and potential donors or corporate sponsors about the project, and point them to the membership page to join. And thank you to every member for your continued support. Opening day is getting closer.
